Founded in 2012, Lantern is a team of researchers, technologists and clinicians translating clinical research into simple, effective web and mobile programs that empower people with the tools to improve their emotional health at a fraction of the cost of face-to-face therapy.
Lantern provides online personalized programs that combine quick and proven daily exercises with professional coaching to strengthen emotional well-being. The online and mobile 15-minute sessions are based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the most effective method for treating anxiety, depression and disordered eating. Each Lantern user is paired with a professional coach and can exchange an unlimited number of messages to guarantee they get the support and guidance they need. Since launching in October 2014, thousands of users have progressed through their personalized Lantern program. On average, people report their daily anxiety has decreased 40% after completing 30 Lantern sessions.
Lantern received a $4M grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
