Business Development & Partnerships Fellow—Summer 2018

You’re brimming with excitement about digital health and you love talking to people about your passion for the industry. You’re a pro at synthesizing a large amount of information to tell a simple, elegant story. As a current graduate student interested in a rewarding summer experience, you’ll work with the Business Development and Partnerships team at Rock Health to determine how to leverage Rock Health’s research, portfolio, deal flow, community and expertise to provide value to our enterprise partners. You’ll perform tasks as needed to ensure we’re exceeding the expectations of existing and prospective Rock Health partners—including companies like Accenture, Blue Shield of California, DaVita, and Boehringer Ingelheim.

Responsibilities include:
• Learn about Rock Health’s role in digital health and how we fulfill our mission through partnerships
• Develop understanding of the different types of partners served by Rock Health and their diverse needs and goals
• Strategize on how Rock Health can build out content most relevant to our partners and prospective partners within specific industries (e.g., pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies) or thematic areas of interest (e.g., respiratory care, wearables)
• Manage and complete industry- and topic-specific projects utilizing Rock Health deal flow database, funding database, and independent research
• Conceptualize and formalize the process to create ongoing, high-value connections between Rock Health partners and portfolio companies
• Perform market scans and other ad-hoc projects as requested by Rock Health partners
• Leverage understanding of partner needs and knowledge gaps to develop programming for summer partner retreat

Skills and responsibilities:
• Strong verbal, relationship management skills
• Adept at producing written and verbal deliverables at a client-facing caliber, with close attention to detail
• Ability to synthesize information of varying types and from multiple sources into strategic insights
• Excel and Google Sheets experience mining data to surface compelling takeaways
• Experience with designing presentation materials and data visualization (preferably using Keynote)
• Experience in healthcare, preferably in the pharmaceutical or medical device space, and experience/interest in digital health or healthcare innovation
• Interest working on a collaborative team
• BA/BS required
• Ideal candidate will be a graduate student looking for a high-value summer experience relevant to their career ambitions
• Work experience, ideally in an account management, strategy, or venture role
