2025 half-year funding: $6.4B across 245 deals

H1 2025 marked a season of steady funding and major milestones in digital health adoption, impact, and durability. In this year’s first half, investors poured $6.4B in venture funding into U.S.-based digital health startups across 245 deals, up from $6.0B in H1 2024 and $6.2B in H1 2023. Average deal size grew to $26.1M from 2024’s $20.4M, as investors placed bigger bets on later-stage rounds and AI-enabled startups. It comes as no surprise that AI was an underlying catalyst for H1 funding and activity—from unprecedented provider adoption of tech to long-awaited public exits to new M&A roll-ups.

Meanwhile, the recently signed budget bill is expected to have significant healthcare ramifications. Innovators will need to contend with new realities like the rising uninsured. But there is momentum to build off of, as H1 propelled the sector forward on delivering digital health’s promise: to improve care access, affordability, and quality, for all.
