A week in review

Which one are you? Last week started off with Meetup of the Minds, where over 250 techies and health geeks joined us for happy hour.   Nametags were great conversation starters for our diverse crowd including folks from Twitter, Facebook, IDEO, UCSF– and of course, plenty of startup junkies.  Thanks to our sponsors — Silicon Valley Bank, Pivotal Labs, and CAC group for covering margaritas and snacks!

We also attended FutureMed at Singularity University, which hosted dynamic speakers like Tim O’Reilly, Daniel Kraft, and Roni Zeiger.

Have you visited QB3 at UCSF Mission Bay yet? Well, it’s pretty cool.  And the location of an event we’re co-hosting this fall (stay tuned).

The end of the week also marked the end of the application period for Rock Health’s first class of startups.   Over 350 applications came in from all over the world and our minions are working hard to review each one.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to apply; we’re seeing some really impressive ideas and teams.

Lastly, we wanted to thank Jeff Hammerbacher (Rock Health Mentor) and Ron Gutman (Rock Health Advisor) for supporting Rock Health at TEDxSV.  They both did an incredible job captivating the audience, and we’ll share the videos as soon as they’re live.
