73 days to go on the sprint to demo day!

Monday, June 4th marked the official start of the Rock Health Boston class–and what a week it has been. The teams have had a busy start, including orientation and prospectives from Rock Health alum Ryan Panchadsaram of ginger.io, who shared how to make the most of the Rock Health experience. Ryan challenged the teams to step back and question assumptions about their companies and products and encouraged them to take advantage of the awesome clinical expertise at their disposal.

Wednesday marked the kick-off for legal office hours, and a highly engaged group from Goodwin Procter provided an overview of their services and then met with the teams informally. The mentors touched on the importance of getting started on the right foot, ranging from issues like incorporation to equity to intellectual property protection. Thursday brought our first press visit. Lydia Leavitt, reporting for Qualcomm’s Spark blog, had an extended visit here in the Rock Boston office, meeting with the teams to discuss Rock Health, the health technology space, and entrepreneurship. Week one was capped on Thursday evening with our very first RockSession, a meet ‘n greet with our fabulous mentors. The turnout was absolutely tremendous and the session provided the first opportunity for each of the teams to meet with the mentors in an informal setting, over food and wine.
