Expansion’s in the air

Spring has sprung and digital health companies are spreading their wings this month, targeting new therapeutic areas and diversifying their offerings. Virtual care and navigation company Included Health plans to launch three new specialty care clinics for health plans and employers that focus on cancer, weight loss, and women's health, while reproductive care platform Maven Clinic made big moves into male fertility care and added wraparound mental health and nutrition support as part of its Trying-To-Conceive coaching program. On the D2C front, Headspace announced it would roll out text-based mental health coaching directly to consumers, with therapy offerings coming later this year. Especially in crowded areas like primary care, mental health, and employee benefits, general telehealth offerings can be difficult to differentiate. Broadening therapeutic areas and consumer offerings can help players stand out from competitors and attract new consumer groups.
