Expanding reproductive and sexual health services
New offerings shed light on how reproductive and sexual health intersect with other care fields—including maternal health, primary care, and specialty care. Last week, Hey Jane announced the expansion of its virtual abortion care services to include telehealth access to birth control, emergency contraception, and treatment for vaginal infections. Hims & Hers also announced its new “Heart Health by Hims” solution, which offers personalized treatments for men’s heart and sexual health needs.
For startups looking to integrate reproductive and sexual health into broader care engagement, earning patient trust, especially for sensitive conversations, remains key—and only 28% of consumers trust health apps as sources of health information. But if digital health companies can deliver safe and discrete care for these highly sensitive indications, there may be opportunity to scale that trust and loyalty to other healthcare needs.
