Bio: Dr. Lola Omishore is a doctor of physical therapy, published researcher, and sports medicine expert redefining how physical therapy is delivered and scaled. Treating elite athletes with 24/7 access to top-tier care showed her what’s possible with a healthcare on demand approach. After working with patients from infants with developmental delays to stroke survivors, she realized most Americans never experience that level of access. She started TheraMotive to change that. TheraMotive partners with health enterprises to build portable clinics that make physical therapy as accessible as an Uber ride and licenses the model to therapists nationwide for a new standard in care delivery.

Org Info: TheraMotive makes physical therapy as accessible as an Uber ride: on demand, wherever people live, work, and age. Our fully equipped mobile clinics eliminate the geographic, physical, and logistical barriers of traditional brick-and-mortar care. TheraMotive partners with health systems and insurers to expand access, reduce hospitalizations, and lower costs in high-need Medicare populations. Our all-in-one platform integrates care delivery, logistics, scheduling, and billing. As the aging population grows and value-based care models accelerate, TheraMotive is redefining where care happens and who gets to access it.

What motivated you to pursue your current work? (i.e., What is your “why”?)

America is a reflection of both the promise and the failure of health equity. As a clinician, I’ve seen world-class hospitals just blocks away from seniors who are forced to wait months for care. Many rely on emergency rooms for basic services due to the long commutes, rigid schedules, and inaccessibility of traditional clinics. The cracks are widest in older adult communities, and that’s exactly where innovation is most urgent. It’s also where collaboration thrives. TheraMotive’s early partnerships with Mount Sinai, the American Heart Association, and Northeastern University prove that mission-driven enterprises are ready to lead the future of care.

What distinct value does your work bring to the digital health field?

In today’s world, a stroke survivor completes physical therapy, walks out the door, and disappears from clinical view. Whether they maintain progress or decline remains unknown until the next critical incident occurs. TheraMotive closes this gap in outcomes tracking by leveraging wearable technology to capture continuous biometric data beyond the clinic. We generate real-time insights to prove physical therapy’s value, build predictive analytics for high-risk populations, and extend care into our end users’ daily lives. TheraMotive transforms physical therapy from episodic treatment into ongoing health intelligence.

How does your work impact your target end-users or stakeholders?

The current healthcare landscape is plagued by a fragmented relationship between health providers, patients, and insurers. TheraMotive unites a broken care paradigm with our treatment model that lowers costs and improves outcomes in older adults. For health plans, we reduce spending in high-risk Medicare populations by preventing fall-related ER visits and readmissions. For health systems, we expand physical therapy service capacity with mobile clinics, clinicians, and integrated billing. For patients, we deliver care where they live, work, and age to restore their mobility and independence.

What is one exciting update or near-term opportunity that you would like to share with the digital health community?

TheraMotive is in active discussions to become a multi-site physical therapy provider with executives at Oak Street Health, the nation’s largest Medicare-focused primary care chain owned by CVS Health. This partnership would integrate TheraMotive’s on-demand clinic model into Oak Street’s value-based care framework for older adults and serve as a strategic partner blueprint for nationwide expansion.
