The events digital health enthusiasts can’t miss during JPM 2019

Written by Kathryn Messina

Programs

In just over a month, healthcare leaders, deal makers, investors, and startups will flock to San Francisco for the 37th annual JP Morgan Healthcare Conference. It’s where big deals are inked (and big bucks are shelled out for meeting space in hotel bars)—but there’s plenty of room for fun, too. The symposium draws thousands of healthcare and life science experts to every nook and cranny of the city for the conference itself, as well as the myriad of concurrent events and receptions.

Wondering which shindigs you should pencil into your packed calendar? We’ve done the work for you and curated a list of gatherings digital health enthusiasts won’t want to miss. Just grab your business cards, pack an umbrella, and get ready to tackle #JPM19 week.

Know of a great event that’s missing? Let us know—we’ll be continually updating this list as we hear about others.

Saturday, January 5th

Digital Orthopaedics Conference San Francisco
January 5-6 at the InterContinental San Francisco, 888 Howard Street

The Digital Orthopaedics Conference San Francisco bridges the worlds of digital health and clinical orthopaedics and thereby catalyzes the adoption of technology in musculoskeletal care. Senior representatives from healthcare, finance, startups, MSK providers in leadership roles, and payers are encouraged to participate. When you register, don’t forget to add the DOCSF Leadership Summit pass to your schedule—you’ll gain access to a session dedicated to how to run a decision accelerator and a design thinking simulation hosted by IDEO.

East/West CEO Conference And Cocktail Reception
January 5-6 at the Four Seasons Hotel, 757 Market Street

Where are CEOs and VCs focusing in 2019? Hear from global leaders in venture capital and biopharma, with speakers representing Bayer, Novo Nordisk, Johnson & Johnson, and more—plus CEOs of rising startups like Verge Genomics and Atomwise. It’s an off-the-record forum to network and share insights on the industry outlook for the year ahead.

Regenerative Orthopaedics Conference San Francisco
January 5 at the InterContinental San Francisco, 888 Howard Street

While existing conferences focus on research and discovery aspects of TE/RM, there are no forums that integrate professionals from all stages required to traverse discovery to patients with musculoskeletal conditions. To address this need, ROCSF will bridge the worlds of biotechnology and clinical orthopedics to collaboratively identify critical gaps that must be addressed to enable significant innovation and rapid advancement of TE/RM approaches for orthopedic clinical indications.
