1DocWay was acquired in 2015.
1DocWay was born out of a need to increase access for the 80 million Americans who do not receive adequate mental healthcare. Started four years ago, 1DocWay has built telemedicine networks in 11 states that enable hospitals to deliver psychiatric services to community health providers. Over 20,000 patients who were otherwise not receiving care have been treated over 1DocWay, saving millions in downstream costs and improving patient wellness.
The company works with the country’s premier behavioral health organizations (the “hubs”) to connect them to various community providers, including critical access hospitals, federally-qualified health centers, skilled nursing facilities, and clinics (the “spokes”). The result is improved access to care, reduced cost burden of the mentally ill, and improved provider reach into underserved healthcare markets.
