Rock Health Advisory Fellow

About Rock Health Advisory:

Rock Health Advisory is a digital health strategy group that helps enterprise companies understand and act on opportunities, craft novel solutions, and succeed in an evolving landscape. We support leaders shaping the future of healthcare through our industry-defining research and data, in-depth guidance on digital health strategy, and connections across the innovation ecosystem. As first movers in digital health for more than a decade, we leverage our deep experience, vibrant community of more than 50k innovators and entrepreneurs, and whole-picture perspective to bring innovation to life with our clients.

About the Fellow Role:

Rock Health Advisory Fellows conduct research and complete consulting deliverables focused on emerging trends in digital health, the broader healthcare industry, and investment in digital health innovation.

In this role, you will deliver value to our corporate members and consulting clients, primarily by preparing customer-facing deliverables using proprietary databases, secondary research, and analysis of industry trends. If you love to research startups, create PowerPoints, and present to clients—this is the job for you!

Key Responsibilities:

The Fellow will contribute to ongoing research and client strategy projects by:

  • Building 15-20 page market landscape decks that identify differentiators across startups and offer a look at the trajectory of specific digital health technologies and market segments.
  • Supporting larger strategic projects for customers, such as helping to define archetypes and segments of digital health markets, size various opportunities, and support go-to-market strategy for new digital health solutions.
  • Developing presentation and communication skills, with the goal of working towards presenting insights to clients
  • Contributing to other research projects including: creating PowerPoint modules to educate the healthcare ecosystem on digital health topics (e.g., oncology care, clinical decision support); conducting analyses of the healthcare venture capital landscape; contributing to quarterly blog posts and annual reports.
  • Working alongside other Rock Health fellows and learning from Rock Health teammates across Rock Health Advisory, Rock Health Capital, and Rockhealth.org

About You:

  • You’re interested in diving deeper into digital health and are excited by the prospect of investigating startup, business models, and ecosystem trends—and helping enterprises form their digital health strategies
  • You love reading, writing, navigating Excel (especially Pivot Tables!), creating charts in PowerPoint, and organizing Airtables and Google Folders to share information
  • You’re comfortable crafting insights, trends and themes from discrete data points and connecting these themes into larger narratives and perspectives within an industry segment
  • You have a fond appreciation for direct, compelling prose, and are comfortable writing short- and long-form
  • Details are important to you—you’re good at checking your own work, as well as the work of others
  • You’re humble, a team player, and care deeply about making healthcare massively better

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Current Master’s, MD, MBA, PhD, or JD student interested in life sciences, health policy, or health technology
