Going direct (to consumer)

Last week saw a surge in announcements from large players making direct-to-consumer (DTC) moves—a continuation of a broader 2024 digital health trend. Pfizer entered the fray with PfizerForAll, its own DTC telehealth and pharmacy services platform that leverages existing insurance and pharmacy networks. Eli Lilly announced that consumers can now purchase Zepbound syringe vials at half-price on LillyDirect via cash pay. Not to mention, the DTC continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) space has been heating up, from Levels securing fresh funding to Dexcom's Stelo CGM now hitting over-the-counter shelves. From better access to care, to unexpected, innovative partnerships, we’re excited for what’s to come as the distinction between patient and consumer continues to evolve.
