Two big announcements
Today is a huge day for our startups. After five intense months of workshops, office hours, business planning and in general busting their butts designing beautiful, game-changing products, they’re finally ready to show you what they’ve been up to. And we couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come.
It’s also a big day for Rock Health. We’re excited to announce two new partnerships that are going to make a huge impact on our next class. Our startups have already benefited greatly from the guidance they’ve received from our partners. From consumer insights and strategy with Nike to the nuts and bolts of building and distributing hardware with Qualcomm Wireless Health, our new partners will undoubtedly also bring much-needed insights into their respective corners of healthcare. We’re excited to welcome (drumroll please…) Genentech and United Health Group to the Rock Health family. United brings a unique perspective as a global provider of health benefits and services. And Genentech is a leader in the design and delivery of cutting-edge medicines, and located in our very own backyard.
“We are pleased to support Rock Health’s efforts to nurture and advance innovation in health care,” said Tom Vanderheyden, vice president, Emerging Businesses Group at UnitedHealth Group. “Innovation is a key driver in helping make the health system work better for everyone, and this accelerator model we believe will help bring solutions to market in a significantly shorter timeframe.”
In addition to the funding that supports Rock Health, partners serve a strategic role in guiding and supporting our startups.
