The new billion-dollar wave in women+ digital health

Half the population is no niche.” — Investor Chrissy Farr

From January-August 2021, women+ digital health startups raised $1.3B across 26 deals—nearly doubling all of 2020’s funding with four months left to account for. Funding for the women+ health sector represents 7% of total digital health funding in 2021 (through August), the second-highest proportion since we started tracking in 2011. We’re encouraged that 2021’s new wave of women+ funding pushes beyond historical norms of pregnancy and fertility support to more comprehensive offerings, from primary care to chronic disease management and menopause health. Check out our latest piece on what’s booming in the women+ digital health market, and the opportunities that entrepreneurs and investors should tackle next.
