Highway to health

Digital health conference SZN means news drops fast and furious, and the runaway theme for last week’s announcements: acquisitions galore. 23andMe purchased Lemonaid Health for $400M, while Medicare primary care provider Oak Street Health acquired virtual specialty care company RubiconMD. Two Rock Health port cos also took the “exit” route: digital health management platform Wellframe got bought up by payer solution HealthEdge, and reproductive health startup Natalist was acquired by home-health testing company Everly Health—a rare example of a woman-led healthcare startup’s purchase by another woman-led health company (!). Farther along on their M&A journey, the combined company formerly known as Grand Rounds Health officially rebranded as Included Health, taking on the name of a recent acquisition. Digital health M&A is in the fast lane, so buckle your seatbelts—we expect consolidation to stay exciting through the end of the year.
